PowerBook G4

The PowerBook G4 is the last family of Apple's PowerBook line of laptop computers. Introduced in 2001 and discontinued in 2006, these laptops use PowerPC G4 processors ranging from 400 MHz to 1.67 GHz. In 2003, the PowerBook G4 switched to an aluminum design. Official Apple PowerBook G4 Page

Identify by Serial Number

Find Serial Number
  1. At the top-left of your screen, click the Apple logo and then click About This Mac.
  2. Click on the version number twice to display your serial number.
  3. If your Mac is not on, the serial number can usually be found on the bottom, on the back, or in the battery compartment.
  4. Enter your serial number in the box below and click 'Go'




Identify by Year, Model Number, or EMC Number

  1. At the top-left of your screen, click the Apple logo and then click About This Mac.
  2. Click on the More Info button to display more information about your Mac.
  3. Find your Mac in the list based on the Year, Model Number, and/or EMC Number.
  4. Click on the model name that corresponds to your Mac.
